"Córus Bésgnai is one of the nearly fifty trats which make up Senchas Már, arguably the most important legal text in the vernacular from early mediaeval Ireland. Linguistic evidence dates Senchas Már with certainty to the Old Irish period, and internal textual evidence allows us to date it more precisely to some time between 660 and 680 AD, and to locate the place of writing as Armagh." - see introduction
